Foundations in Industry Workplace Safety
The Foundations in Industry Workplace Safety course is designed to provide students with a foundational understanding and awareness of the legislative requirements and responsibilities under the following eight industry standard safety courses. This includes:
● Construction Safety Training(CSTS2020)
● Confined Space
● Detection and Control of Flammable Substances
● Fall Protection Awareness
● Ground Disturbance
● H2S Alive
● Transportation of Dangerous Goods
● WHMIS 2015
Plus:
● Job Preparation (CTR1010) – resume & cover letter, application and interview prep
This course is designed to help students understand and complete the rigors of attaining certification. Students will receive industry level certification for the above courses, in addition to 5 30-level CTS credits and be ready to enter the industry workplace upon completion. As this course is designed to provide a larger understanding of industry related safety, certification under each of the eight areas will not be provided until completion of the entire course. This course includes both an online component and off-site practical training sessions. Students must participate in all of the off-site practical training sessions.
● Minimum 16yrs of age
This course will run from JULY 4 - 14 FROM 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.
